How it works
From “check-in due” to “someone’s helping them”.
You set the schedule once. From there it runs on its own — a gentle check first, then rising steps only if a worker goes quiet, until a real person takes ownership. Here is every step, in order.
Build a check-in schedule
In the console you create a schedule for a worker or a team: the check-in windows (say 10:00 and 16:00 on weekdays), a grace period, and who to alert if a check is missed. Shift-based cover with START and DONE works too, for teams who clock on and off.
Automated check-insThe worker gets a check
When a window opens, the worker gets a check-in request by SMS, email or the app — whichever suits them. There is nothing to install: an SMS carries a one-tap link. All they do is confirm they’re safe.
Grace window, then a nudge
If they don’t answer straight away, nothing escalates yet — a normal shift is never interrupted. A grace window passes and a reminder SMS nudges them. Only once that window closes with still no reply does the system step things up.
No answer needed if they’re busy — the grace window absorbs itWorker taps “I’m safe” — or “I need help”
One tap closes the check: “I’m safe” logs them as confirmed, with their location captured for the audit trail. “I need help” — or a panic / SOS button, or an SOS / HELP text keyword at any time — raises an instant distress signal with their GPS location, skipping straight to escalation.
Panic & SOSStill quiet? “Zoe” makes an AI voice call
If the check is still open after the nudge, our AI voice caller “Zoe” phones the worker and holds a natural, spoken conversation — not a robotic menu. She listens to what they say and reads a safe or distress verdict. If the call can’t be completed or the outcome is unclear, she fails safe to distress and escalation continues. Nobody slips through a bad line.
AI voice callsThe escalation ladder reaches real people
Now the sequential escalation ladder runs. Each contact is alerted in turn and must actively acknowledge — an accept-link in the email, or pressing 1 on the voice call. No acknowledgement before the timeout and the alert advances to the next person. If the whole ladder is exhausted, the account owner is notified so it never goes unanswered.
Escalation & alertsEvery step is logged for evidence
Everything above — each check sent, reply, nudge, AI call verdict, escalation and acknowledgement — is timestamped and stored in a full audit trail. Export it as a report to demonstrate your duty of care to lone workers.
